Camping 2011/ Quintstock

We embarked again this year to Port Clinton, Ohio for our annual camping trip. Brady as always loved the water and Carson joined in this year too, though he is not as much of a fish as his older brother. The boys especially loved spending the week with their cousins, or as Brady calls them, his friends.

We took both boys to the drive thru safari this year and they were all smiles as the large bison and steer fed out of our hands from inside the truck!

Brady was able to partake in his first ever game of Chicken ball, and Carson enjoyed watching with Daddy from the sidelines.

This year's theme was Rock Stars and my boys were dressed as members of ZZ Top, though neither liked the fake facial hair that mommy made for them and it was hard to keep in on them.

We enjoyed watching the Denny's as Gun 'N Roses

And the O'Tooles as who else but KISS!

Mommy joined in the fun as Lady Gaga!

It was a very memorable year for everyone!

Catch Up Time!

So I have been pretty lousy about keeping this blog updated so I fully intend to remedy this situation with a little catch up post. I last posted when carson was 8 months old which was before Christmas of last year! So here is an update of the last 8 months :) Carson began walking around 10 months, he enjoyed cruising on the furniture but was a little hesitant to let go and start being brave so he didn't hit walking at 9 months like we thought he would, but he is an over achiever all the same. Carson seemed to be talking at a bit of a slower rate than Brady but we assumed it was just him being a boy as boys tend to be slower talkers than girls. Then Carson began to get ear infections at an increasing rate to the point where he spent about 2 months straight this spring with ear infections despite 3 rounds of antibiotics. So we got an ENT consultation and Carson ended up going in for surgery to have tubes put in his ears. This procedure was over in the blink of an eye and I think it was more traumatic on Mommy than Carson. He was a little emotional when he awoke without me in the recovery room, but once we got him dressed and into the car and got a little food in his tummy, he stopped crying and slept the whole way home. From that time on we had a different baby. He became much happier, less fussy, and began talking more immediately. His speech is still hard to determine, but mommy understands what he is trying to say, so that counts :). Summer has been very good so far with lots of fun and family time. Carson is a great sleeper and gives us a good 11 hours of sleep without getting up, he sleeps better than his big brother does! He absolutely loves dogs and I think if he were stronger he would try to carry Milo around the house all day! He loves to give him hugs and pet him, and yesterday I caught him trying to ride him! He also loves balls and kicking and throwing them. He has a decent arm already though not quite as accurate or far as big brother Brady, however he can kick a ball like nobody's business, I can definitely see a soccer star blooming in him. I will finish this post with pictures of the past 8 months and I will try to be better with posting more regularly.
